Britons looking to compare accounts may be interested to hear a switching offer is set to be relaunched.
Those taking out the Alliance & Leicester Premier Current Account over the next few weeks will be able to benefit from a cash incentive deal.From next Monday (January 11th), Santander will give Britons switching to such a current account a £100 cash bonus, a deal first launched in 2009.
People wishing to compare accounts may also be interested to note the product offers a 0.5 per cent credit interest, a fee-free agreed overdraft for 12 months and free annual European travel insurance.
Helen Palmer, head of current accounts at Santander, points out that by making such a switch consumers "can go a small way to improving their finances with a £100 cash bonus, which could help them make a good start to the new year".
Earlier this week, Halifax revealed that those in possession of its Ultimate Reward Current Account will be able to benefit from discounted rates and special deals across a number of its other products.

Ian 2010-01-24 12:47:55The A & L account seems quite a good deal but if you use the telephone banking option, 0844 number, you will be charged at a premium rate.

Phil Waddington 2010-07-11 18:13:40I already have a Premier Direct A/c. which is paying a measly 0.08%.Can I switch to a new one while still depositing the required £500 min.per month to earn a better rate? I've had this account for over a year now. By staying loyal to A/L I would have thought consideration would be shown to these customers.
