An Alliance & Leicester current account has received a prestigious prize, it has been revealed.
Britons looking to compare accounts in the search for a competitive deal may be interested in details of a prize won by Santander.Awarded by lovemoney.com, the Alliance & Leicester Premier Direct current account has been given the best high-interest current account accolade.
"To have won this award, based on votes by the public, is true recognition that our products give customers the value that is important to them," Helen Palmer, head of current accounts for Santander, states.
She goes on to point out that the product offers six per cent interest on balances of up to £2,500 for the first 12 months it is taken out.
At the firm's inaugural personal finance awards Alliance & Leicester was also commended for its overdraft rates, those seeking UK accounts may want to make note of.
Earlier this month, the bank offered a £100 cash incentive to those who switched to the Alliance & Leicester Premier Current Account.
