HSBC offers student account holders chance to win £15k

Students could win £15,000 through a competition being run by HSBC.

Student account holders looking for a way to supplement their loan may be interested in a £15,000 competition being run by one financier.

In news that may be of particular note to individuals with an HSBC current account, the lender has issued a reminder to scholars that they now have less than one month left to apply for the opportunity to win this five-figure sum through its Student Bursary contest.

Under the terms of the competition - which is hosted on Facebook - eight lucky people will each win a £15,000 prize if they are judged to have best answered the question 'how would £15,000 help you make your mark on the world?' on a 90-second YouTube video.

Helen Gentry, head of student banking at HSBC, observed this sum will provide "peace of mind" to the winners.

Recently, Santander announced it is offering its student account holders the chance to win one of five £1,000 prizes via its Facebook page before October 18th.
