A new bank account service could help people manage their money more effectively, it has been suggested.
Details of a new online bank account
service have been unveiled.
Launched by Barclaycard - which includes the Barclaycard Platinum
and Barclaycard Initial Credit Card
in its range of products - mybarclaycard allows customers to monitor their bank accounts over the internet.
In addition, users can break down their expenditure into areas such as leisure and health, which could help them to monitor their spending habits.
They will also be able to set up direct debits, request a balance transfer and manage their credit card
limits via mybarclaycard.
Commenting on the service, chief executive Amer Sajed states: "It will make our customers' lives a little easier by providing them with the control to track and manage their spending with Barclaycard."
News of mybarclaycard could prove to be of particular assistance as a recent study by the Norwich & Peterborough Building Society revealed that 76 per cent of people claim they keep on top of their finances by regularly checking their current account
