Lloyds TSB has unveiled a new service allowing customers to check their bank account balance via their mobile phone, it has been revealed.
Details of a new 'on demand' balance service has been unveiled by Lloyds TSB.
The bank - which includes the Lloyds TSB Current Account
in its range of products - has launched a Balance on Demand facility as part of its of Mobile Services provision where customers can send a text message from their mobile phone requesting the latest information on their bank accounts.
Upon receiving a message back, users are provided with their latest balance and details of their last six transactions.
Peter Jackson, managing director of consumer banking for the Lloyds Banking Group, states: "Our customers want more control of their money and they want more information to help them make day-to-day financial decisions on spending and saving."
The mobile banking service is available to all Lloyds TSB customers for £2.50 per month.
However, it is free for those in possession of Lloyds TSB premier accounts and private banking accounts.
News of the banking service follows the bank's unveiling of a cash ISA
earlier this year, offering a fixed rate of interest for the first 12 months.
