Female business owners are increasingly finding themselves able to access finance products, one industry expert claims.
There appears to be improvements in the ability for female entrepreneurs to access
business banking products, it has been suggested.
Tatjana Hine, president of the British Association of Women (BAWE), claims recent weeks have seen an increase in the willingness of banks to offer
business bank accounts,
business credit cards and other forms of finance to females since the emergence of the financial crisis.
She point out that lenders are starting to take a more favourable approach towards women-run businesses as they recognise such organisations tend to have fewer debts.
However, she claims that more needs to be done in improving business finance routes.
"I think banks have over the last few months become more friendly towards women entrepreneurs. It would be nice if they could continue to be so," the BAWE president states.
Such comments follow the launch of a Department for Business, Innovation and Skills initiative aimed at increasing access to business support, finance and procurement opportunities for female entrepreneurs.
