A new survey has revealed that UK travellers view insurance as a must have for any holiday.
The majority of jet setters recognise the importance of travel insurance, according to new research.
A survey, from American Express Travel Insurance, showing what UK holidaymakers never leave home without, revealed 87 per cent of people listed travel insurance as a major priority.
This was second only to taking travellers' cheques or credit cards as a back up for cash.
Also, 67 per cent of travellers would pack their medication and 64 per cent said they would include a first aid kit.
Joanne Field, marketing manager at American Express Travel Insurance, said: "The real answers show that for most people travellers cheques, credit cards and a good insurance policy ensures they can survive any crisis be that delayed luggage, missing luggage or even something they have just forgotten."
