People struggling with spiralling levels of personal debt could benefit from a new fund set up by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI).
Kwik-Fit Financial Services has announced it is entering the insurance market, linking up with Legal & General to offer life assurance products.
The firm will use Legal & General's Glasgow call centre operation to begin its offering, specialising in term assurance products.
Kwik-Fit says its products will also be available online, pitching the products as a complement to Legal & General's mortgage protection and critical illness products.
Kwik Fit Financial Services managing director Martin Oliver, commented: "Kwik Fit Financial Services was keen to enter into a strong relationship with a provider which would help develop our financial services business over the longer term.
"We are delighted to have teamed up with Legal & General, a provider which is able to offer a range of products that will enhance our portfolio to customers."
The move is being seen as another indicator of the desire among some firms to find synergies in the use of call centres and online technology to add value.
