AA introduces life insurance

The AA is extending its extensive insurance range to include life cover, effective from October 1st.

Its new life insurance cover offers low cost level and mortgage protection policies, as well as individual and joint life policies.

The life insurance policy joins AA's car, home and travel policies, and applicant can obtain quotes and apply online.

"Many people find applying for life assurance confusing and tend to put off buying decisions. We aim to make the process as quick and easy as possible with premiums amongst the cheapest available," says Kevin Sinclair, managing director of AA Insurance.

"While most people are happy to insure their home and their car, they could do more to protect the people closest to them, should the worst happen. The risk of a death in the family is not something people like to think about and, as a result, there is huge life under-insurance in the UK," he added.

He added that a quarter of property owners say they don?t have sufficient cover to protect their mortgage and of those that do, 72 per cent say they would lose their home if the family breadwinner died.
