Winter sport enthusiasts looking to try their hand at a new activity are advised to ensure they first have sufficient travel insurance in place.
Those looking to try out some winter sport activities while away on holiday should first make sure their travel insurance will provide them with suitable protection.
Esure points out one in three people will attempt adventurous pursuits such as skiing and snowboarding without first checking the limitations of their cover.
However, as 13 per cent of holidaymakers are revealed to have been injured while taking part in an adventurous sport or activity on holiday, checking the terms of your
single trip travel cover or
annual insurance policy before setting off could be advisable.
"If you are tempted to try something new it's crucial to have quality travel insurance and to read the small print to check what you're covered for," Mike Pickard, head of travel insurance for esure, states.
Single trip insurance customers may also want to bear in mind a recent More Than study noting that as 568,000 Britons will take to slopes this year on holiday while still drunk, any attempts on their cover may be made invalid.
