A readiness to switch provider should help people to secure a competitive deal on their car insurance.
Drivers have been reminded of the importance of shopping around in order to get a good deal on their
car insurance.
Writing for lovemoney.com, Chris Torney points out that getting quotes from a number of suppliers "is the simplest way" to secure a competitive price.
And as insurance providers rely on customer apathy in order to make profits, those seeking
breakdown car cover and other forms of motor insurance should always be prepared to take their business elsewhere.
"If you stick with your existing provider year after year, chances are they will be charging you much more than new customers," he advises.
To boost their chances of getting a good deal on
car day insurance, drivers should also be upfront about any modifications made to their vehicle, while avoiding convictions of motoring offences and road accidents can also see the cost of premiums fall.
However, a recent AA Insurance study revealed that men are more likely to have been charged with at least one driving conviction, with offence rates particularly high among 25 to 34-year-olds.
