M&S has urged dog and cat owners to be wary of their pets contracting seasonal allergies this summer.
Marks & Spencer (M&S) Pet Insurance has today (May 25th) warned cat and dog owners that their pets are more likely to suffer from flea and skin allergies in warmer weather.
As summer approaches, M&S has said that cats and dogs contract allergies in much the same way as people and, as with most human allergic reactions, there is no complete cure available to treat them. Dogs in particular are vulnerable to a wide range of environmental irritants which can lead to continual sneezing and scratching.
Pet owners are therefore advised by M&S to check the small print of their
pet plan insurance policy to ensure that they are covered should their animal require medical attention, as some
direct pet insurance plans may not which would lead to the owner having to foot the bill for the necessary treatments.
Under M&S's premier pet plan package, owners are covered for costs up to £7,000 annually in vets' fees for illness and injury. New customers receive a 15 per cent discount when purchasing pet insurance from M&S online.
