Many Brits heading abroad on holiday spend less than an hour researching and buying travel insurance, new research has shown.
New research released yesterday (May 27th) has shown that many British holidaymakers do not bother to shop around for the best
single trip travel insurance before leaving home.
According to a study by YouGov - which was commissioned by Laterooms.com - many travellers treat insuring themselves against stolen and lost items as an afterthought rather than a priority, with hotels and flights instead featuring at the top of their agenda.
The data collected reveals that nearly half - 47 per cent - of all holidaymakers spend less than an hour researching and booking
annual insurance or
single trip insurance, but take much longer searching for deals on travel, accommodation and transfers.
Laterooms.com spokesperson Andrew Pumphrey said that this attitude is not advisable as insurance is not "a commodity you can just buy off the shelf".
"It's very important that people consider the destination they are going to and the type of activity they are going to be doing when they get there," he added.
