The firm is targeting people who run businesses from home with a reduction on its insurance rate.
Direct Line yesterday (June 1st) introduced a new
home insurance package specifically for people running a business from home.
Owners of firms that are based at home can now save 25 per cent on a specialist
annual insurance deal which is designed to help home-workers reduce costs without cutting the quality of their cover at the start of the new tax year.
The deal includes Direct Line's
contents and buildings insurance which includes cover for company stock, such as office equipment and furniture, up to a value of £75,000. Also, liability for injury to the public or damage to their property worth up to £2 million is covered.
Events such as floods or fires that lead to loss of earnings are reimbursed by up to £50,000 under the plan and business money that is lost or stolen at home or in transit can also be reclaimed.
According to Bytestart, running a business from home is a popular option for those looking to minimise costs when setting up their new company as people seek to avoid their travel expenses.
