Aviva has said that people going to music festivals this summer should cover themselves by taking out personal belongings insurance.
Aviva has today (June 14th) advised revellers heading to music festivals this summer to be wary of thieves.
With more than three million people primed to head to the 500 events being held across the country over the coming months, research conducted by the company has shown that many people run the risk of taking valuables worth more than £500 with them to festivals.
And while items such as iPods, jewellery and mobile phones are usually covered by
contents and buildings insurance policies at home, most festival-goers head to these bashes uninsured against theft.
Festival season is already underway in the UK, with the Isle of Wight event closing last night with a performance from Beatles legend Sir Paul McCartney.
Other major forthcoming festivals include Glastonbury and T in the Park and Aviva is urging people to take out personal belongings
annual insurance on top of their
home insurance in order to protect themselves against crime.
