AXA has urged people not go on holiday without adequate insurance cover for their belongings.
Anyone heading away on a
single trip travel holiday in the coming weeks and months should ensure that they are adequately covered by their
annual insurance policy prior to leaving the UK.
That is according to AXA, which has found that the average British holidaymaker will take more than £420 worth of electronic goods with them on their break - but almost a quarter (23 per cent) will have no
travel insurance or yearly product protecting their belongings.
This amounts to a total of up to £1.61 billion worth of gadgets being taken abroad uncovered, meaning that any loss, breakage or theft of such devices could prove costly.
Amanda Edwards of AXA remarked that personal possessions cover "is more important than ever these days" due to the changing lifestyles enjoyed by many people.
Meanwhile, Alistair Rennie of the Post Office stated last week that there are still many cost-effective options open to people who have not yet booked a summer holiday this year.
