swiftcover.com to launch home insurance offers

swiftcover.com is to enter the home insurance market, it has been announced.

People seeking home insurance will now have another option to choose from after online car insurance specialist swiftcover.com announced its intention to move into the market.

The company - which was the UK's first online only provider of motor cover - has pledged that its new annual insurance policies for homeowners will shake up the sector by offering people the opportunity to just pay for insurance on items that they definitely want insured.

According to the provider, many standard contents and buildings insurance policies include unnecessary additional items, such as cover for children who have moved away from the family house to go to university, which adds a "worthless extra cost" to these packages.

Therefore, swiftcover.com will offer the flexibility of standard insurance while also allowing customers to bolt other items on should they need to.

Meanwhile, a study released yesterday (July 26th) by the Co-operative found that more than half of British drivers put their insurance policies in danger by taking risks - such as smoking - while at the wheel.
