M&S has warned car insurance holders not to risk invalidating their policy.
Taking out the right
car insurance deal may never have been more important for motorists, if the data from a new study is to be believed.
According to a poll released yesterday (August 11th) by Marks & Spencer (M&S), more than half - 56 per cent - of all drivers in the UK have fallen victim to vehicle crime in the past, possibly meaning that a protective policy - which may include
breakdown car cover - is vital for road-users in 21st century Britain.
However, despite many drivers already having
annual insurance products in place, the M&S survey indicates that around 60 per cent are putting their packages at risk by failing to activate their vehicle's alarm when it is left alone.
Andrew Ferguson, M&S head of general insurance, said: "It's important to make sure the vehicle is secure when unattended."
Meanwhile, the RSA yesterday launched a new car insurance policy which is available exclusively online.
