Aviva and Santander have signed a new home insurance contract.
Aviva is to continue its tie-up with Santander which sees it provide the financier's customers with
home insurance cover.
In news that could be of interest to anyone considering the opportunity to
compare savings on their
contents and buildings insurance in the near future, Aviva has won a competitive tender process for the distribution of insurance products to people who save with Santander.
The insurer has had a long-standing relationship with Abbey and Santander and this agreement sees its contract being extended further.
It follows on from the announcement earlier this month that Aviva had been awarded a five-year distribution agreement from the Spanish building society to provide its customers with life insurance protection.
David McMillan, chief executive of UK general insurance with Aviva, remarked that the firm's "unique perspective across life and general insurance" means that Santander's customers will be well catered for.
Last week, Santander introduced a new set of benefits for people taking out motor insurance with the company before the end of 2010.
