Anyone seeking a competitive car insurance package in the near future may wish to look into the possibility of taking out breakdown car cover with Santander.

As of last Friday (October 1st), customers opting for such a policy with the financier either online or by telephone will receive a free TomTom Start satnav worth £99 as a special bonus.

In an offer that may be of note to those with Santander savings, the lender is also offering consumers who already have a satnav device the opportunity to claim £50 cashback on their product up until December 31st of this year.

Santander car insurance policies are also subject to several other factors, such as unlimited cover for manufacturer-fitted audio equipment and a protected no claims discount to anyone who has gone four years or more without making a claim.

In related news, Defaqto recently stated that many UK car insurance polices do not protect against mishaps such as putting the wrong type of fuel in a vehicle.
