Aviva has reassured its home insurance holders ahead of the expected poor weather across the UK in the coming days.
Adverse weather is forecasted for most regions of the UK in the coming days - but one
contents and buildings insurance provider has moved to reassure its customers.
According to Rob Townend - director of property claims at
home insurance company Aviva, which also offers cover products for
single trip travel holidays - consumers with such policies from the group should not be overly concerned if their property is damaged.
Mr Townend urged homeowners to take basic precautions to protect their house from gales - which are expected to reach speeds of up to 45 mph - but added Aviva will be there to support them through its claims team, contractors and call centre staff.
He added "there is no such thing as an Act of God exclusion", meaning that harm caused by issues such as floods and storms is "covered as standard by your home insurance policy".
This comes after Defaqto warned householders to be vigilant against burglaries in the winter.
