Sainsbury's launches new home insurance offer

A lender has introduced a new home insurance offer.

Householders searching for effective contents and buildings insurance cover could take out a new offer from one supermarket bank.

In news which could also be of note to those with Sainsbury's savings, the financier revealed yesterday (April 4th) it has created a home insurance package with added bonuses for consumers who use the Nectar card reward scheme on their shopping.

Under the terms of this product, new customers purchasing cover for their residential property will receive a £40 gift card that can be used in Sainsbury's stores, which goes on top of existing benefits such as a 30 per cent no-claims discount and five per cent off for anyone taking the product out online.

Ben Tyte, manager of Sainsbury's Home Insurance, observed: "Home insurance policies vary a great deal so it's essential people compare them not only on price but also on the level of cover they provide."

This comes after research by M&S Money showed recently that women are now more likely to take control of household outgoings.
