It is a good idea to opt for lifetime cover when buying pet insurance.
Owners looking into
pet plan insurance should consider lifetime options.
This is the advice of animal behaviour consultant at SafePets UK Debbie Connolly, who suggests: "Forget fancy add-ons and stick to the best cover for vet fees that include lifetime coverage for illnesses and a behaviour consultation. These are the things that actually matter."
People who choose
pet plans that give permission for treatment and direct payment to the vet will remove pressure from people who are going through challenging times.
Direct pet insurance customers are also advised to keep their animals healthy by ensuring they receive regular worming and flea treatments.
Giving them good quality food, vaccinations, grooming and frequent exercise will also ensure pets maintain a high quality of life, Ms Connolly notes.
According to Chris Newnham, marketing manager at Animal Friends Insurance, this market has become stronger during the recession, as people see the dangers of neglecting financial cover.
