Travel insurance: Post Office ups ante

The Post Office is upping the ante in the travel insurance market by reducing the prices of its annual travel insurance policies by up to 30%. Or £50.

Ski and winter sports cover, which was previously part of all annual policies, is now offered as an optional add-on, and customers can now choose to exclude the USA, Canada and Caribbean on worldwide policies, thus receiving a cheaper rate.

New annual policy rates (old rates in brackets) are: Europe Individual cover, £50.00 (£62.00); Family/Couple cover £80.00 (£105.00); Worldwide (Excluding USA) Individual cover £75.00 (£99.00), Family/Couple cover £110.00 (£160.00); Worldwide (Including USA) Individual cover £90.00 (£99.00); Family/Couple cover £140.00 (£160.00).
