YBS enters car insurance market
Yorkshire Building Society is set to enter the motor insurance market, offering a new product to its customers.
The building society is to offer insurance via a partnership with Royal & SunAlliance.
Drivers will be able to obtain their policies and receive a number of key benefits, including recommended repairers with a three-year guarantee on all approved work.
Policy holders will also be provided with a free courtesy car during repair, a replacement vehicle in the event of a serious accident or a hire car for 48 hours in the event of theft or immobilisation.
The policies also offer a loyalty bonus, consisting of an increase in the no-claims discount each year that a customer does not make a claim, up to a maximum of 70 per cent.
Ian Bullock, general manager of sales and marketing at the Yorkshire, said: "The launch of YBS Motor Insurance is a natural extension to our existing general insurance range.
"Customers both existing and new, will benefit from a hugely competitive product and should see them making savings from even the most famous direct brands."
