AA to continue providing DOC cover
AA Insurance has confirmed it will continue to provide 'Driving Other Cars' (DOC) cover on an indefinite basis.

DOC means drivers will be covered to drive other people's cars in the case of an emergency, such as when driving someone to hospital if their own vehicle is unavailable.

The UK has one of the worst uninsured driving record in Europe, according to the AA.

A leading insurance cover recently removed its DOC cover, but the AA believes that such a decision on its part would exacerbate uninsured driving as many driver will continue to believe they are covered in emergency situations.

AA Insurance is urging the industry to better explain its insurance cover, and that customers should be better informed that DOC is for emergency purposes and only covers another insured vehicle.
