Scottish enterprises looking to take out business loans could benefit from improvements in access to finance.
Entrepreneurs with
business accounts north of the border have seen an improvement in their ability to access cash, judging by details released by the Scottish Government.
According to the Access to Finance Survey, fewer companies are being rejected out-of-hand when seeking financial support.
The study - which may suggest that organisations in Scotland can look to boost their
business credit card spending power - also showed that problems with regards to borrowing access remain.
Commenting on the findings, John Swinney, finance secretary, stated it is important that "the signs of improvement are continued and deliver real benefits to viable, small businesses looking for fair and equitable access to finance".
One of the main points of the report was that obtaining finance for small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs) remains as difficult now as it was in March 2009.
Elsewhere, those looking to secure business loans may be interested to learn that Barclays has unveiled its government-backed Enterprise Finance Guarantee scheme, which will aim to help SMEs gain access to financial products.
