British borrowing slowing down, says HSBC
Borrowing in the UK is on a gradual slowdown according to new figures released by HSBC in its June Index.
The Index, which measures total borrowing at all the bank's branches in the UK, including mortgage, personal loan and equity withdrawal enquiries, indicates weaker demand for credit.
Figures show that while borrowing underwent a small rise n the short-term ? up two per cent in comparison to he previous three month period ? it is cooling off when viewed over a longer period.
