Moneysupermarket.com is a price comparison website based the the UK that specialises in personal financial services. The website allows its visitors to compare prices on a whole range of financial products, including insurance, savings accounts and loans, helping them save money and time.
Moneysupermarket is listed on the London Stock Exchange and is a constituent of the FTSE 250 Index.
Moneysupermarket was first established in 1993 by Nottingham University student - Simon Nixon and Duncan Cameron as a provider of mortgage information to Independent Financial Advisers running under the name Mortgage 2000.
In 1999 Nixon launched the moneysupermarket.com website to move the business online, then in 2000 he expanded the service to provide credit card and personal loan information.
In 2003 insuresupermarket.com was launched, followed by travelsupermarket.com in 2004.
In June 2007 Simon Nixon bought out his partner to become the sole owner of moneysupermarket.
