TV and broadband supplier Virgin Media is to offer 100 Mb access by the end of 2010.
TV and broadband supplier Virgin Media is to launch the ultimate broadband experience.
The project will see Virgin Media roll out a
top broadband package in terms of speed, aiming to corner the market in customers wanting to exploit the internet's full capabilities.
It indicated that it would begin the implementation of the service by the end of the year.
Paying homage to the capabilities of its fibre optic cable network, Neil Berkett, chief executive of Virgin Media, highlighted the company's desire to give customers cutting-edge broadband capabilities.
Mr Berkett said: "The launch of Virgin Media's 100 Mb service will be a historic moment and will mean the UK will be comparable to other leading broadband nations."
Earlier this week Virgin Media announced the launch of a range of travel passes to allow customers to use their mobile internet and mobile broadband services across the EU.
