Virgin Media has introduced a new 30Mb broadband service from £18.50 per month.
TV and broadband provider Virgin Media has launched a new 30Mb service that replaces its previous 20Mb option.
The upgraded version of the company's XL service is set to cost £18.50 per month when taken with a Virgin Media landline, providing unlimited downloads and speeds that are 50 per cent faster than its previous offering.
According to Virgin Media, consumers who
compare providers will find that its network speeds are more consistently reliable than other fibre optic broadband options based on VDSL technology, such as BT Infinity.
It means that the company's high-speed internet product range now includes 10Mb, 30Mb and 50Mb packages, as well as a
top broadband speed option of 100Mb.
Jon James, executive director of broadband at Virgin Media, said: "As consumers continually demand more and more from their broadband, the unique power of our next-generation network means that we're able to turn up the dial to meet their needs."
Earlier this month, the firm made its 100Mb package available for the first time in areas of Hertfordshire, Wales and Merseyside, bringing the option to 150,000 more homes.
